Bob Rock is chairman of MLR Holdings and publisher of Directors & Boards. In addition to MLR Media, MLR Holdings also owns B2B information businesses including Uptime Institute. With MLR Holdings, Bob had been chairman and majority owner of Montgomery Newspapers, which published 17 weekly papers and a number of specialty publications in the Philadelphia suburbs. He has also been chairman and majority owner of IDD Enterprises, which published magazines and newsletters and provided online data for financial executives. Bob has also served on a number of private, public and nonprofit boards including Quaker Houghton, Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Alberto-Culver Company, Hunt Manufacturing Company, R.P. Scherer Corporation, P.Q. Corporation, The Wistar Institute, Weinberg Governance Center, The World Affairs Council, Philadelphia Orchestra Association, Curtis Institute of Music, and the Rock School for Dance Education. Prior to joining MLR Holdings, Bob was the chairman and chief executive officer of the Hay Group, a management consulting firm with more than 90 offices in 27 countries specializing in compensation, benefits and human resources consulting. He received his B.A., MBA and D.B.A. degrees from Harvard University. His author credits include The Chief Executive Officer, Corporate Restructuring and The Mergers & Acquisitions Handbook.
