Susan Story is a highly accomplished and successful leader in business, policy insights and strategy. She served as CEO and CFO of American Water Works, Inc., and as President and CEO of two subsidiaries at Southern Company, Inc. She has extensive experience in water quality, supply and infrastructure; operational, customer, and cyber technology strategy, development and deployment; Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) leadership; and in cultural transformations involving safety improvement, employee engagement, strategic workforce planning, inclusion and diversity, technology development and adoption, and change management. In addition to her seven years at American Water (six as CEO), she also has 31 years’ experience in the energy and electricity industry. She currently is on the boards of Raymond James Financial, Inc. (independent lead director since 2016; Corporate Nominating, Governance and Compensation Committee; Securities Repurchase Committee; Securities Pricing Committee), Dominion Energy, Inc. (Audit, Finance Committees), and Newmont Corporation.
